The founder of The Lightgivers Foundation, High Chief Stanley Obodoagwu, a renowned philanthropist, has hosted outstanding students who excelled in the 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
The event took place at Chief Obodoagwu’s compound in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State the students and beneficiaries of the foundation’s scholarship program , honored to ensure a seamless transition into tertiary education.
The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, and other necessary expenses.
Dr. (Mrs.) Sabina Chukwunedum, the facilitator of the scholarship program and former principal of Abbot Girls Secondary School, Ihiala, has played an instrumental role in mentoring the students and ensuring their academic success.
Speaking at the event, Chief Obodoagwu commended the students for their impressive performance in the JAMB examination, noting that his philanthropic efforts stem from a deep love for humanity and a strong commitment to giving back to society.
He reaffirmed his dedication to supporting the scholars throughout their university education.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Precious Ezichi Nwafor, a student of Abbot Girls Secondary School, Ihiala, scored 314 in the 2025 JAMB examination. She has applied to study Law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Coming from a low-income background, she expressed profound gratitude for the continued support of The Lightgivers Foundation, which has funded her education for the past three years.
Another beneficiary, *Miss Ele Hanah, who scored 274 in JAMB, also appreciated The Lightgivers Foundation for sponsoring her secondary education. She prayed for continued blessings upon Chief Obodoagwu in his philanthropic endeavors.
In her remarks, Dr. Chukwunedum expressed joy over the impact of Chief Obodoagwu’s humanitarian efforts through The Lightgivers Foundation, which has provided indigent students with stress-free access to quality education.
She urged the scholars to remain diligent and focused, encouraging them to become worthy ambassadors of their school and the foundation.
Dr. Chukwunedum recalled that in 2023, The Lightgivers Foundation awarded scholarships to ten students from Abbot Girls Secondary School, Ihiala, covering their education up to the university level.
The selection process involved an examination for indigent students, with the top ten candidates receiving scholarships worth tens of millions of naira.
Established in 2019 by High Chief Obodoagwu, The Lightgivers Humanitarian Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to promoting love, saving lives, improving global health, mentoring youths, and alleviating poverty.
Through the foundation, Chief Obodoagwu has funded numerous community projects, provided scholarships from primary to tertiary levels, sheltered homeless families, and supported free healthcare initiatives. His efforts, in collaboration with civil society and human rights organizations, continue to enhance community development and improve living conditions through consistent philanthropy.
