DELSAPWD TO PARTNER WITH NSCDC

The Senatorial District meeting by Delta State Persons living with Disabilities DELSAPWD has been held with a call on members to see ability in disability. 

 The meeting brought together representative from Delta South and Central Senatorial Districts members Board of trustees as well as a member of the State Security and Civil Defense Corps to Oguwashi uku in Aniocha South local government area. 

 The President of the Delta State Persons living with Disabilities and the Vice Chairman JONAPID Dr Joseph Chikunin said the meeting would be taken to other parts of the state Senatorial Districts to create awareness and build bonds among members and noted that the Delta State command of the Civil Defense Corps will be collaborating with the body. 

 For her part, the unit head of persons living with Disabilities, under the State command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Faith Onwuegbuzie said the Delta State command of the Civil Defense Corps is collaborating with the PWDs by providing them with security, through the corps emergency response, as part of the commands cooperate social responsibility. 

 The representatives, Delta South and Central DELSAPWD said they were seeking ways to attract support to the body and called for Cooperation among members while also advising them to be law abiding citizens of the country 

 The Vice Chairman Board of trustee, Kingsley Akpederin Esq noted that there was need to sensitize the people especially Deltans on the disability laws. 

 According to him, the law had made it necessary to create the needed awareness in all the local government areas of the state with a view to treating the physically challenged persons with dignity and respect rather than cast them aside. 

 The Chairperson JONAPID Aniocha South Mrs Binta Okonkwo while addressing members of the body encouraged some JONAPID members to register with DELSAPWD to enable them enjoy the benefit of the new body. 

 Members went home with 15 thousand Naira each attracted from a donor through the President of DELSAPWD Dr Joseph Chikunin.
