A Non-profit organization, known as the Okehebunor Foundation has reiterated its resolve to empower the less privilege, the unreached and marginalized communities in Delta State through education, healthcare and sustainable development initiatives.
The Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Okehebunor Foundation, Mr. Samuel Okehebunor, who stated this in Asaba during the unveiling of the foundation, described the unveiling as a new birth for the future.
Speaking on the overview of the Okehebunor Foundation and the strategic road map for 2025, he said that the foundation was a dynamic value driven and action oriented organization established to empower lives, transform communities and reshape society
He said that as a visionary leader and a global advocate for integrity, hope and transformation, the foundation has formidable team of expertise and professionals , governed by Board of Directors who are committed to achieving the objective of the organization.
Okehebunor listed the program thematic focus areas, to include health awareness, youth and women empowerment, good governance and leadership, Sustainable Development Goals, community integration and solidarity, stressing that the first phase of the project for 2025 to 2026 was that of establishment and visibilities of the organization.
While saying that the unveiling of the foundation was a covenant with communities, Nigeria, Africa, and Diaspora,built to empower, transform and amplify the voice of the people when it mattered most , Okehebunor asserted that the vision of the organization was obligated on necessity.
He said that there are many communities with untapped potentials are left behind due to the system neglect, adding that the foundation would provide people with access for opportunities to thrive.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Odigwe, who was also the chairman on the occasion with the traditional ruler of Akumazi kingdom, HRM Obi Henry Jegbefune 1 commended the founder of Okehebunor Foundation for the initiative, urging well meaning individuals to always give back to the society no matter how little it might be.
The duo said that the foundation initiative was anchored on service to humanity and promised to support the initiative, even as the council chairman called on well meaning Nigerians to embrace the crusade of helping others .
Also speaking, the Technical Consultant, Okehebunor Foundation, Augusta Keneboh explained that as the Global Director of Africanist inclusion in Diaspora, Okehebunor operates on global stage , demonstrating a strategic brilliance for impactful policy changes and galvanizing support for African across continents.
In his lecture presentation titled: Youth Advocate on Sustainable Community Development, Amb. Chika Omuso noted that in a bid ensure sustainable development , there was need to practice what one had learned overtime because they are cogent for one's survival.
He said that sustainable community development was all about building development for communities , especially for the youth and other as well as other segments that make up the community, just as he highlighted some principles of sustainable community development to include community economic resilience, social equality, cultural preservation and participatory planning as well as environmental protection.
Recall that the Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Jamani Ejiro was represented at the event.
Highpoint of the event was the investiture of the grand patron of Okehebunor Foundation, Chief Henry Okehebunor , the Chairman of Ika North East, Hon. Monday Odigwe, the traditional ruler of Akumazi kingdom, HRM Henry Jegbefune among other stakeholders and partners.
