EFCC Chairman Mr Ola Olukoyede , who spoke through the Benin Zonal Director Mr Effa Okim, delivered a message to the Nigerian Universities Engineering Students Association (NUESA), urging them to reject cybercrime and embrace hard work.
Mr Olukoyede said the growing trend of students diving into (internet fraud popularly known as Yahoo-Yahoo because of flashy cars and fake luxury is a Road to Ruining their lives.
While giving instances of a 21-year-old student buying a 30 million Naira car, he declares it as ignorance—and greed.
He called out the toxic mindset of quick wealth, warning that society values have been eroded as more young people chase illegal money instead of education and integrity.
The NUESA. President Comrade Joshua Ojo Idemudian praised the EFCC’s anti-corruption war and sought collaboration for an upcoming National Engineering Conference where students will be taught the harsh realities of cybercrime.
Meanwhile, Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Edo Network also visited the EFCC, seeking partnership to **"shape a saner, more accountable society."** Coordinator **Chinye Patrick-Biose** emphasized youth reorientation, urging teamwork to combat corruption.
Mr Okim assured both groups of the Commission’s readiness to partner with stakeholders, stating, that EFCC Operates an open door policy and that they are always open for open for meaningful collaboration.
