TRANSPORT COMMISSIONER ADVISES NURTW MEMBERS TO BE RATIONAL IN THEIR ACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES

Delta State Commissioner for Transport Mr Onoriode Agofure has advocated peaceful co-existence amongst Members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW).

Agofure gave the charge in his office,when a faction of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in the State,paid him familiarization visit,to intimate him about their activities,in order to have a symbiotic relationship with the Ministry.

The Chairman comr   
 Okpando Patrick stated that he and his Executive members came intimate the Commissioner on their legal victory,they got from the court of appeal against their rival Comr Francis Ariyo
,who they claim to have lost out in court of appeal judgement as the State Chairman.

Agofure,after he had listened to their mission statement and receiving legal documents presented to him,reiterated that" leadership tussle,should be handled with caution in all ramification".

The Commissioner further remarked that due process of the law ,should be duly exploited in all their dealings,stressing that activities of  the Union,should be diligently handled,not to bring the State government in bad light.

Agofure,added that the Ministry is an unbias umpire,"we shall stand with the law abiding side,as it concerns the government,violence of any kind should be avoided".
He maintained that open line of communication,honesty as well as the unity of purpose were indices that could lead to achieving greater success in any Organisation.

The Commissioner remarked that the State Governor Rt Hon Oborevwori is an advocate of peaceful Co-existence in every sense of the word,stressing that the State Governor has the powers to proscribe any Organization,that could cause breakdown of law and orderliness in the State.

In-attendance,during the meeting were the permanent Secretary(PS)Engr Victor Omoniyi,the Special Assistance to the Commissioner Engr Austin Odiete and other Management Staff. 
The Commissioner assured the Union members  that included,Dr Okolo Gift,Comr Umunna Nwosisi,Chief Igbine Odomero,Chief Araro Dennis and Chief Micheal Ajuya of unbias disposition in all ramification.
