A renowned educationist and a union leader in Delta State, Comrade Prophet Chiedu Mokogwu has been commissioned as a Patron in the All Saints Missionaries Army Naval Air Force Chaplaincy (MANAC) , Okpanam Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State with a pledge to sustain his humanitarian disposition , especially on the life of the less privilege.
Comrade Mokogwu, who is the 4th Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Delta State Chapter, stated this after after his official decoration as a Patron during the 2025 MANAC National Harvest/Thanksgiving Service and Palliatives for the widows of the 63 Nigerian Army Brigade, Asaba.
He said that his elevation was a call for more charity work, adding that it was always better for a very servant of God to be giving than to be receiving without giving at all .
Comrade Mokogwu, a teacher in the West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, recalled that all through his life , he had continued to derive joy in putting smiles on people's lives , particularly that of the needy, no matter how small .
While describing his recognition as a dream come through, Comrade Mokogwu commended the Principal of West End Mixed Secondary School, Mrs. Augusta Ogeah, who is a patroness of MANAC for her effective leadership and for her role in sharing the humanitarian activities of the Chaplaincy.
In their sermon, the Chief Inspector of Education, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Hon. Emiliana Djoma and the Principal of Osadenis Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Mrs. Patience Ngozi Aguonye , both patronesses of the MANAC , prayed God to restore the lost glory of Nigeria.
Speaking on the theme of the thanksgiving service :"Just a little oil ", the duo stressed the need for every individual to give thanks to God at all times, reminding them that the gift of life alone outside other numerous blessings from God was enough to give Him thanks.
Hon. Djoma and Mrs. Aguonye told the congregation that it was more gratifying to touch lives of the less privilege with whatever they have.
They enjoined those at the top and those aspiring to be at the top to appreciate God , emphasizing that thanksgiving was an instrument of asking God for more blessings.
For her part, the Principal of West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Mrs Augusta Ogeah, who midwifed the appointment and induction of Comrade Mokogwu as a Patron of the Chaplaincy, appreciated Comrade Mokogwu for his unwavering commitment to supporting the activities of MANAC which according to her was all about contributing to welfare of the widows of army officers that were dead .
Earlier, the President -General of the Missionaries Army Naval Air Force Chaplaincy, Mr. Ezekiel Ajedegba called for collective efforts in supporting the windows of army officers that had died for their sacrifices to the nation.
